How to Apply The Product

1. Jet Wash the Underbody to clean off muck

2. Leave to dry naturally or use one of our dryers

3. Remove Flakey Rust with a wire brush - applying to stable surface rust is fine

4. Apply the Moto Grease to nuts, bolts & weld seams

5. Spray on the Moto Spray

6. Leave to Cure

To do a top up - simply redo the same process - no need to remove the previous application.

For VERY rusty vehicles, you can follow a 2 step approach. Remove the worst of the loose rust with a wire brush then liberally spray with Moto Spray. Leave for 2 months and the Moto Spray will help to push off the flakey rust. Then apply as listed above.

Things to plan for

Fitting it into your workflow

You don’t need to overhaul your day—just decide where it naturally fits.

Most people slot it in:

  • After a service
  • During a detail
  • As part of pre-sale or winter prep

As a rough guide:

  • Smaller vehicles: allow 1–2 hours
  • Larger vehicles (4x4s, vans): 2–4 hours

It’s flexible, so you can scale it around your existing jobs.

PRO2 SPRAYER KIT WITH 360 INJECTOR WAND - Lanoguard

Equipment & setup

You don’t need anything complicated or expensive. Just make sure you’ve got:

  • A spray gun or application system
  • Compressor (if spraying)
  • Basic PPE (gloves, eye protection)
  • Enough space to move around the vehicle (a lift or ramps helps)

No ovens, no curing lamps—nothing that changes your setup dramatically.

Getting the prep right

Prep is an important part of the job.

Before applying, you’ll want to:

  • Check the underside properly
  • Remove mud, salt, and loose debris
  • Make sure the vehicle is reasonably dry

The better the prep, the better the finish and longevity—simple as that.

Working conditions

It’s a forgiving product, but you’ll get the best results if:

  • You’re working in dry conditions
  • Ideally indoors or under cover

Nothing too restrictive—just common sense.

Stock planning

You’ll want to keep enough product on hand so you’re not caught short.

Over time, you’ll get a feel for how much you use on different vehicles.

Having stock ready means you can offer it confidently on the spot.

Lanoguard can be left for up to 12 months before use, just be sure to give it a good shake and warm up if necessary.

Pricing it properly

Decide early how you want to price it:

  • As a standalone service
  • Or bundled with other work

Most go with tiered pricing depending on vehicle size.

Position it as a premium protection service, not a cheap add-on—customers see the value when it’s explained properly.

Offering it to customers

Timing is everything. The easiest wins are when:

  • The car’s already in for a service
  • You spot early signs of corrosion
  • Customers are preparing for winter
  • You’re working on a newly purchased vehicle

A simple way to introduce it:

“While we’ve got the car up, it’s the perfect time to protect it from rust going forward.”

Bringing customers back

This isn’t just a one-off job.

If you keep a record of who’s had it done, you can:

  • Recommend annual top-ups
  • Build repeat business automatically

It turns into a reliable, returning revenue stream.

Setting expectations

Be clear and upfront:

  • It’s about preventing and slowing rust, not hiding heavy corrosion
  • It won’t look like a thick black underseal

Customers appreciate honesty—and it avoids issues later.

If you’ve got a team

Make sure everyone is on the same page:

  • Basic training on application
  • Consistent prep standards
  • Clear, simple way of explaining it to customers

That consistency is what builds trust and repeat work.
